Family Seeks Answers After 21-Month-Old Nyxailia Hinton’s Tragic Incident At Tennessee Pumpkin Patch

A Tennessee family is searching for answers after 21-month-old Nyxailia Hinton lost her life following an incident at a pumpkin patch in Sevierville. What was supposed to be an ordinary day turned into a heartbreaking experience for her loved ones, who are now asking for answers about how the toddler ended up in the situation.

The incident happened on October 27, 2026, at a pumpkin patch on Happy Hollow Lane. According to the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office, Nyxailia fell and was struck by a vehicle driven by a family friend. She was rushed to the hospital and admitted to intensive care, but doctors were unable to save her.

Her mother, Peandra Hinton, said she had not given the babysitter permission to take her daughter on the outing. She also explained that she did not know the group of people who were accompanying Nyxailia that day.

In an interview with local television station WVLT, Peandra described her daughter as a little girl who brought happiness wherever she went.

“She just lit up the room,” she said, explaining that Nyxailia had a special way of making people smile, even when they were having a difficult day.

According to a fundraising page established for the family, the toddler suffered serious injuries, including a fractured skull and ribs, and required a blood transfusion.

The family was left facing an unimaginable situation as they moved from hoping for her recovery to making funeral arrangements.

Nyxailia’s father has also spoken publicly about the family’s desire to understand exactly what happened. He said they want justice for their daughter and are determined to keep seeking answers.

The circumstances surrounding the babysitting arrangement have become an important part of the family’s concerns. Peandra said she was unaware that her daughter had been taken to the pumpkin patch, and the identity of the person caring for Nyxailia has not been publicly disclosed.

Authorities have confirmed that the vehicle was driven by a family friend, but have not released a detailed explanation of how the toddler fell or precisely how the incident unfolded.

The Sevier County Sheriff’s Office says the investigation remains ongoing. As of November 1, no charges had been announced.

Meanwhile, a fundraising campaign has been created to help cover funeral expenses and support the family during this difficult period. Donations and messages of sympathy have come from people touched by Nyxailia’s story.

For Peandra, the hardest part has been waking up and realizing that her little girl is no longer there. The family is now holding onto memories of a toddler whose smile, according to her mother, could brighten an entire room.

As investigators continue working to establish what happened that afternoon, Nyxailia’s family says they are not giving up their search for answers. Their hope is that the circumstances surrounding her final outing will become clearer and that those responsible, if any wrongdoing is established, will be held accountable.
